Have you heard the comment that culture will eat strategy any day?

But what is culture and what is strategy?

Culture, according to the dictionary, is the ideas, customs, and social behavior of a group people or society.

Strategy is a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim.

Leadership is a tool that contains and directs both culture and strategy.

This means, a leader can influence the culture of a particular group of people, corporation, or society. Over time, a great leader who has chosen inclusion over exclusion can share ideas and redefine customs and traditions with the aim to change the social behavior of a group of people. A leader also has the capability to direct a group of people towards a negative outcome.

We need great leaders to help direct us towards a more positive outcome.
